As a community of faith, we share the Word of God at all liturgical celebrations. Lectors pray, prepare, and proclaim the Scripture readings on an assigned basis. Training is provided and commitment is based on a rotational schedule.
This ministry is two-fold: to lead the assembly in worship and to enhance the liturgy through song.
Our ushers provide many services during the course of the Mass. First, they arrive early so people may be welcomed with a smile and/or handshake at the door. During the Mass, they are alert to any special needs people may have.
Those who act as ushers help locate seating as needed. During the Mass, they direct the flow of people as they receive Communion and assist in identifying those who are unable to come to the altar. Ushers also facilitate the collection and presentation of the offering.
Extraordinary Ministers are those who have received the call to assist the priest with the distribution of the bread and wine which has become the body and blood of the risen Christ.
The altar servers assist the priest at Mass. They take part in carrying the cross or candles in procession, hold the book for the presider's prayers, assist with setting and removing things to and from the altar table, and serve as role models for participation in the Mass.
